Each year, there’s a lull. While many are out making resolutions and reinventing themselves, I’m wrapped up cozy, still adrift in winter’s slumber. The long, dark days feel endless, as if spring is only a distant dream.

But then—subtle shifts. A touch more light in the morning, the crisp air softening ever so slightly, the first brave bloom pushing through the frost. These quiet transformations remind me that spring isn’t just a season; it’s a promise.

The Spring tree is designed to usher in this awakening, a celebration of renewal and gentle joy. Soft pastels mingle with fresh greenery, mirroring the first buds of the season. Each spring, as I lay out plans for my garden, I find myself yearning for the vibrant canvas of color that nature so effortlessly paints. The gardener in me is never content to wait; I crave the act of creation, the joy of shaping beauty with my own two hands.

When designing the Spring Tree, I knew it needed to capture more than just the season’s arrival. It had to embody the quiet magic of nature awakening—the first birdsong drifting through an open window, the promise of rebirth carried on a gentle breeze, the soft, tender hues that signal winter’s retreat. I sought out elements with a story to tell, pieces crafted with intention. Every tree has that one thing, I call it the Special One. It’s an element that whispers a secret, kept between two friends. It’s a unique element specific to just this season in time. Each season it’s a delight to pick a special one, often times the idea comes to me quickly, others it seeks me out. Either way, it makes it on to the tree and I find myself searching it out each time.

The Friendship Droplet

There’s a certain kind of magic in things made with intention—crafted not just by hand, but by heart. The Friendship Droplet is one such treasure, a delicate glass ornament born from the traditions of Worcestershire’s master glassblowers. Each droplet is mouth-blown, its shape and swirls unique, carrying within it the beauty of imperfection.

Long ago, these droplets were formed from the remnants of molten glass at the end of the workday—fragments that might have been discarded, instead transformed into something extraordinary. A small act of creativity, a quiet gesture of resourcefulness, and yet, they became something more. A symbol. A gift. A way to say, I see you. I cherish you.
